I want to produce a portfolio of creative portraiture. Here are some of my test shoot that I have done recently that have helped my build my project plan.
I’m a big fan. I really like a high degree of control of light. Illuminating the front of someone’s face, but not either side…. amazing. it’s so clean and simple I just love it Copyright Albert Watson
www.michellemercerphotography.com My website! and i did it all my myself!
At the moment my main focus and selling point on the website is to promote my wedding work. As my portrait work increases I will change this to either be split to show both or have creative portraiture as the main focus. I have done a lot of research into SEO, google Adwords and content. I also use this website to sell product and host private galleries for clients because at present I do not offer in-person selling which is something that I want to look at for the future. With christmas fast approaching I have had a lot of family portrait sessions going on. Because I have not got my own studio space (yet) i have been focusing on mainly Outdoor sessions. These have their positive and negative aspects due to weather, crowds and mud!
All my customers receive at 10day private gallery, HD slideshow video and a 10x8 print with their portrait session. This is a gallery that went live this morning, and the customer feedback was " WOW beautiful, how on earth am i going to choose". Just makes me more certain the portraiture is the path way I want my photography career to take. I was contacted by the North Shields Business factory and Vibrant PR to cover a story of two local artists who have had great success and are celebrating the launch of their range of greeting cards being sold in Fenwicks - Newcastle
Researching, bullet points, and drafts have been the main focus this week. Looking at the do's and dont's of completing a UCAS personal statement as a "mature" student.
